These enamel chains are still made from sterling silver, stainless steel & gold filled metals, making them just as durable and reliable as out other options, but because enamel is not a metal material, they are prone to more wear & tear. The enamel can fade & peel off with time which is why I do not recommend these for necklaces or rings. This is a seasonal/semi temporary option only. Typical wear time is 3-9 months but may last longer depending on how well its taken care of. This is also a great option for children!
