What is Permanent Jewelry?
What sets permanent jewelry apart from others?
Permanent jewelry is the act of custom fitting a chain to your liking and welding it shut instead of using a clasp- although adding a clasp can be added by request and is recommended for younger children.
Is it painful?
Absolutely not! I use a protective leather patch to protect your skin from the spot being welded. The weld typically takes a couple seconds and when done properly, does not create a large spark thus taking out the risk of any pain or burn.
What if Im flying or needing an MRI? Can it still be worn?
If you are flying, there is no need to remove your jewelry as there is not enough metal to set off a metal detector.
In the case of an MRI , we strongly recommend removing your jewelry to avoid any complications during the scan.
How do I remove my permanent jewelry?
Permanent jewelry can be removed with strong or heavy duty kitchen scissors. Cut the welded jump ring to create an opening and slip the chain off the ring to remove it. Rewelds are an option if you are needing it due to necessary removal.
What metals are used?
Because metals are being welding, I only use high quality metals like 14k gold filled, sterling silver and on occasion stainless steel.
Why is my jewelry tarnishing?
Tarnishing is natural for many metals and can typically be prevented by taking the proper cleaning steps regularly. A polishing cloth and cleaning instructions will be provided to you to aid in cleaning. Chemicals can speed up the tarnish process like chlorine, perfumes, locations, and natural body oils. This is why it is very important to keep your jewelry clean just like you would with your wedding ring or other precious pieces.
My jewelry broke after getting it done, what can I do?
Quality and satisfaction are my highest priority but things can happen. This is why I offer free repairs on your jewelry up to 15 days after application. Due to the initial cost of materials, I will only offer refunds or replacements on a case by case base. Please reach out to me asap to request a free appointment to repair your piece.
Is there an age limit?
Although there is no legal age limit with permanent jewelry, I do have my own age limit of 12. This is because kids are always growing and their bodies change fast and we don’t want to limit that in any way. Because the jewelry is custom fit, I will likely leave the jewelry slightly looser than desired to allow for extra wiggle room and to not restrict any movement.
